Classic Legends needs funds for new investments since it has not generated profits in the last three years. "The investment may go towards new product development, plant and machinery, working capital needs, and some to write off previous years' losses," says auto-industry veteran and consultant HS Goindi. The mid-weight motorcycle segment (250cc-650cc) is seeing more opportunity and traction with the entry of Hero Harley and Bajaj Triumph.

Ireda zooms:
Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (Ireda), a state-run enterprise under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, has been providing financial assistance to new- and renewable-energy projects and energy-efficiency and conservation projects for 36 years. Last week, Pradeep Kumar Das, the chairman and managing director of Ireda, announced the launch of a retail division to provide loans under the PM Kusum scheme, and for rooftop solar and other business-to-consumer sectors. 

This set the stock, which was otherwise hovering at INR60 levels, soaring. Ireda listed on the bourses last month at 56% higher than the issue price of INR32, and has spiked 140% to close at INR120 on Thursday.

6GHz spectrum wars:
The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) urges the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to identify 6GHz band for mobile services.

The GoNIA is also of the opinion that the 6GHz band will be crucial for India to achieve the Bharat 6G Vision. DoT recommended reserving the upper 6GHz band (6,425MHz-7,025MHz) for mobile services and would decide on the lower band (5.925-6.425GHz) later. Airtel, Jio, and Vi want the upper band to be auctioned and exclusively reserved for mobile services. 
 Many countries have opened up the 6GHz band for unlicensed Wi- Fi use. This includes the US, UK, and South Korea. China has allocated this band for mobile services. The Indian delegation at the WRC 2023 has not stated its stand clearly.

Asha Ventures raises INR400 crore:
VC fund Asha Ventures has raised the first tranche of INR400 crore for its debut INR750 crore fund to be deployed in sustainability and inclusion-themed ventures. The rest is likely to be raised over the next 12 months.

 Targeting early-stage ventures, its cheque sizes are likely to be in the range of USD2 million- USD10 million, managing partner Amit Mehta told. The funds will be deployed in four to five startups every year for four years.With a portfolio of 13 companies, it has co-mobilised INR2,000 crore since 2015.

मार्च 2023 के अंत तक बैंकों और एनबीएफसी का खुदरा ऋण पिछले छह वर्षों में लगभग तीन गुना बढ़कर 51.7 लाख करोड़ रुपये (कुल बैंक ऋण का 30%) हो गया है।

नुवामा ने कहा, "आईटी में सबसे अधिक नरमी देखी गई है, वेतन बिल वृद्धि अब केवल 8% सालाना है। इसके अलावा, आईटी कंपनियों के लिए कर्मचारियों की संख्या अब साल-दर-साल कम हो रही है। इसलिए, यदि मांग में सुधार नहीं होता है, तो आईटी वेतन बिल वृद्धि में और कमी आने की संभावना है।" एक रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है.

स्टॉक रडार: संवर्धन मदरसन ने 16 महीने में की वापसी :

ऑटो कंपोनेंट क्षेत्र का हिस्सा, संवर्धन मदरसन, काफी हद तक एक संकीर्ण दायरे में समेकित हुआ, लेकिन स्टॉक ने साप्ताहिक चार्ट पर 16 महीने के समेकन रेंज के ब्रेकआउट क्षेत्र से वापसी की।

विशेषज्ञों का सुझाव है कि उछाल ने स्टॉक में गति बढ़ा दी है जो इसे अगले 1-2 महीनों में 100 के स्तर से ऊपर ले जा सकता है। अल्पकालिक व्यापारी तब तक स्टॉक खरीदने पर विचार कर सकते हैं जब तक यह 87 के स्तर से ऊपर कारोबार करता है।

Stagnant wages, high inflation pushing people to borrow more:

High inflation and relatively low growth in wages is affecting the way Indians are handling their finances. Financial liabilities of Indians are rising faster than their assets. The net financial savings of households in India fell to a near five-decade low of just 5.1% of the GDP in FY2023.

Retail loans of banks and NBFCs have almost tripled in the past six years to INR51.7 lakh crore (30% of overall bank loans) as at the end of March 2023.

"The moderation is most pronounced in IT with wage bill growth now at just 8% YoY. Also, for IT companies headcount is now contracting YoY. Hence, if demand does not revive, IT wage bill growth is likely to moderate further," Nuvama said in a report.

Stock Radar: Samvardhana Motherson bounces back from 16-month: 

Short-term traders can look to buy the stock as long as it trades above 87 levels.
Samvardhana Motherson, part of the auto component space, largely consolidated in a narrow range but the stock bounced back from the breakout area of a 16-month consolidation range on the weekly charts.

A bounce back has added momentum to the stock which could take it above 100 levels in the next 1-2 months, suggest experts. Short-term traders can look to buy the stock as long as it trades above 87 levels.

The stock consolidated in a range from February 2022 to June 2023 in which 84 added as a stiff resistance on the unside and levels above 50.

"The auto pack has been performing exceptionally well and it is now cascading to the auto ancillary space too," Ajit Mishra, SVP - Technical Research, Religare Broking Ltd., said.

"Motherson has completed the formation of a fresh buying pivot, after retesting the neckline area of the previous consolidation range. Besides, the existence of the moving averages ribbon around that zone is further adding to the positivity," he said.

SpiceJet set to get capital infusion:
Cash- strapped SpiceJet has finally been able to manage investments from a clutch of investors that will see it get around INR2,250 crore by January. The airline, which owes dues to lessors, tax authorities, vendors, and even employees, will be able to partly clean its balance sheet due to this capital. Of the 64 investors who will be issued the shares, prominent ones are likely to be Mahapatra Universal, and Elara India Opportunities Fund. 

Omidyar Network:
 With this the country's largest early-stage impact investor, which has so far deployed around USD500 million, has stopped making fresh deals. Omidyar maintains that its catalytic role has been fulfilled with several philanthropic and venture-capital funds, focusing on lower- and middle-income groups. 
Omidyar has a portfolio that includes unicorns such as DailyHunt and Vedantu. It had remarkable exits from Whitehat Jr and 1MG. The firm has several distinct startups such as Goodera, Farmart, Masai School, and Indifi. But 2023 was a particularly tough year. One of its investee companies, ZestMoney, shut shop last week. Doubtnut underwent a firesale, while Bounce pivoted its business. Vedantu has been struggling while DailyHunt burns a lot of cash.

Joe Biden:
US President Joe Biden who was set to travel to New Delhi for Republic Day as the chief guest will give the event a miss. US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, had earlier confirmed in September that the invitation to  US President Biden was extended by PM Narendra Modi during their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in New Delhi.
